when running sfc /scannow i am presented with an error called

" Windows Resource Protection found corrupt files but was unable to fix some of them"

The solution is

from an elevated command prompt run

Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

if successful then run

sfc /scannow 

again
