sudo apt-get install acl
vi /etc/fstab
put a comma after errors=remount -ro
and then write acl
save the file
if acl is enabled
you should see
acl after a comma after errors=remount - ro
then mount and remount the filesystem which needs acl to be turned on
in my case
mount -o remount /
now create a file and use the command setfacl or getfacl
